Terms of Service

This is a translation. The French version prevails in case of any difference.

1. Purpose

These terms of service (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the domain-sentinel.com website and the Domain Sentinel service (the "Service"), published by Grégory Boutte, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel, SIREN 130 455 447) (the "Publisher", see the legal notice).

Using the Service, with or without an account, means accepting the Terms. Subscribing to a paid plan is also governed by the terms of sale.

2. The Service

Domain Sentinel queries the public domain name registration sources (RDAP, WHOIS, DNS) to:

• check whether a domain name is available and show its registration data;
• watch a list of domains and alert on their changes (expiry, redemption, availability, registry data, DNS records, TLS certificate);
• provide this information through an API, an MCP server, webhooks and reports.

Domain Sentinel does not register, buy, reserve or manage any domain name. An availability alert does not guarantee that the domain can be registered.

3. Account

Some features require an account. You agree to provide a valid email address and to keep your credentials and API keys confidential; any action taken with them is deemed taken by you. Report any unauthorized use without delay to contact@domain-sentinel.com.

You guarantee that the information you provide is accurate, in particular your declaration that you act as a professional when subscribing to a paid plan. False information may lead to the suspension of the account under the conditions of article 5.

4. Plans and limits

The Service is offered as a free plan ("Free") and a paid plan ("Pro"). What each plan includes and its limits (number of watched domains, included features, API quotas, import size, history depth) are described in the pricing section and in the documentation. They may change; a change that reduces a current paid subscription is announced in advance, under the conditions of the terms of sale.

When an account exceeds the limits of its plan, nothing is deleted: whatever exceeds the limit is paused (for example, a domain beyond the quota is no longer checked) until the account changes plan or goes back under the limit.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

• query the Service massively to extract its data (scraping), or resell that data;
• get around the limits of your plan, in particular by creating several accounts or API keys;
• use the Service, its API or its MCP server to harm a third party or a registry, or in any unlawful way;
• disrupt the operation of the Service.

In case of a breach of the Terms, the Publisher warns the account holder by email. If the breach is not remedied within 15 days, the Publisher may restrict access or suspend the account. A serious abuse (attack, massive extraction, harm to a third party or a registry) may lead to an immediate restriction or suspension. A proven abuse gives no right to any refund.

6. License and intellectual property

The Service, its code, name, logo and content remain the property of the Publisher. The Publisher grants you, for as long as you use the Service, a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Service, its API and its MCP server, within the limits of your plan.

You may not copy, reproduce, resell or make available to third parties all or part of the Service, nor decompile or reverse engineer its code, except where the law allows it.

The suggestions and feedback you send to the Publisher may be freely used by the Publisher to improve the Service, without compensation.

7. Registry data

The information shown comes from the registries and servers queried, at the time of the check. The Publisher guarantees neither its accuracy, completeness nor freshness: a registry may be unreachable, rate-limit requests or publish incomplete data. Registrant contact data is shown under the conditions described in the privacy policy, and its removal can be requested on the dedicated page.

8. Availability and alerts

The Publisher aims for 99.5% availability of the Service, without commitment. Interruptions may occur for maintenance or for external causes.

Automatic checks run at regular intervals (usually once a day). An alert may therefore arrive after the event it reports, or not arrive if a source is unavailable. Domain Sentinel does not replace the holder's own monitoring of their renewal deadlines.

9. Liability

The Publisher has an obligation of means (best efforts). It cannot be held liable for the loss of a domain name, the inability to register one, or the consequences of inaccurate data from a registry. In any case, its liability is limited, for all claims combined, to the amount paid by the user during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, except in case of gross negligence or mandatory provisions to the contrary.

10. End of use

You can stop using the Service at any time. Deletion of your account and its data is requested at contact@domain-sentinel.com or through the site's contact form; it takes place within 30 days. Before deletion, you can ask for an export of your watched domains and their settings, as a CSV file. A current paid subscription is cancelled under the terms of sale.

11. Evidence

The emails exchanged, and the logs and data recorded by the Service (in particular the checks performed and the alerts sent), are binding as evidence between the Publisher and the user, unless proven otherwise.

12. Changes to the Terms

The Publisher may change the Terms. The version in force is dated at the top of the page; a significant change is announced by email to account holders before it applies.

13. Miscellaneous

• Force majeure. The Publisher is not liable for a failure caused by a force majeure event within the meaning of article 1218 of the French Civil Code, including a failure of the host, the networks or the registries queried that is beyond its control.
• Severability. If a clause of the Terms is held void or unenforceable, the other clauses remain in force.
• No waiver. Not enforcing a breach does not waive the right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. The Publisher may assign the Terms and current subscriptions to a third party taking over the Service; you are informed by email and may then cancel. You may not assign your account or your rights without the Publisher's written consent.

14. Governing law

The Terms are governed by French law. The French version prevails in case of any difference with its English translation.
